Running Gait Analysis
A running gait analysis is effective in helping to identify biomechanical abnormalities by assessing your body’s strategy in running. We observe and film you while running from different angles and discuss your efficient and inefficient movement patterns. Having an understanding of what optimal running form should look like is not always enough to know if you are properly applying the changes required to improve your running form. You also need to know how to implement key efficient movement patterns to be able to improve your running inefficiencies. It’s difficult to know if you are making an improvement unless you can actually see what you are doing and not just blindly applying changes. Getting a better idea of how your body moves will allow you to make the necessary changes in order to make you the most efficient runner that you can be. Included in the analysis will be a detailed breakdown of your running gait to determine what needs to be improved, explanation of key movement patterns and how to implement them into your running, as well as identifying any limiting factors affecting the way that you move.
Running Skills and Technique Classes
Running Skills and Techniques Classes focus on running form and gait training to help improve overall running economy. In addition, mobility and strength will be addressed. These classes are targeted for new runners who want to progress safely into running efficiently and reduce the risk of injury; and experienced runners looking to fine-tune their running form in order to take their running to the next level; and individuals looking to safely progress back into running after an injury. This class is open to individuals of all ages and experience levels.
